Building on the success of last year's abstract competition, with over 90 accepted submissions, we're excited to invite authors to submit abstract's for next year's conference. This is your prime opportunity to showcase innovative AI projects and research that demonstrate your approaches to improving patient care, pathways and services. By participating, you'll present your work to a multidisciplinary, global audience of clincians and healthcare professionals.

Why submit an abstract?
Abstract submissions are a key part of our conference, enriching the programme and creating invaluable opportunities for authors. Accepted abstract will be displayed as a physical poster in the exhibition hall throughout the event, available online for virutal attendees via the CrowdComms platform, feature on SciGens website and be published in the RCR Open Online Journal.
Key reasons to submit your abstract:

- Demonstrate impact: highlight effective approaches to improving patient care, pathways and services
- Influence practice: share achievements that shape clinical practice across the UK and globally

- Boost your profile: accepted abstracts will be showcased in our poster gallery throughout the event, available online for virtual attendees, published in the RCR Open Online Journal and feature on SciGens website
- Earn CPD credits: receive 3 CPD credits as lead author and 1 CPD credit for each co-author.
Abstract submission themes
We welcome a wide range of AI submissions from across the UK and globally, showcasing projects implemented over the past year. Submissions should align with the following key themes:
- AI education and research - proof of concept or AI in development, technical advances, teaching approaches or pre-clinical testing
- Transforming practice and leadership - pilot or test data on implmentation of AI into clinical practice, clinical feedback or patient perspectives
- Risk management and compliance - projects around governance, compliance and/or ethics and societal impact
- AI vigilance - post-implementation monitoring, real world performance evaluation, health economic evaluation
- General/other - projects outside of the above
How to submit
Submissions must be entered using the online form. At least one named author must register as a paying delegate and attend the conference on 29-30 June 2026. Secure your place when you submit your abstract to take advantage of the early bird rate, saving up to £100.

Abstract prizes
All accepted abstracts will automatically be entered into our competition for the chance to win a cash prize and a prestigious oral presentation slot on the programme.
Our judging panel will select four winners and four highly-commended entries. Winners will be announced live on stage during day two - Tuesday 30 June 2026. Shortlisted authors will be notified in advance and must be in attendance. Each winner will receive a certificate and a cash prize as follows:
The People's Choice Award
Alongside the main abstract competition, we're excited to host a People's Choice Award for the best poster displayed at the conference. Your in-person peers and colleagues will vote live during the conference. The poster with the most votes will be crowned the winner and announced on our social media channels and on the AI Conference website on Wednesday 1 July 2026. The winner will receive a £100 cash prize.
Eligibility
We welcome submissions from members and non-members across the UK and globally, including members of other Royal Societies and professional bodies in non-radiology/oncology specialties, to ensure greater opportunities for colleagues worldwide to share their innovative AI work.
In-person poster displays
Accepted abstracts will be showcased in a dedicated area of the exhibition hall on traditional poster boards, giving you the chance to share and discuss your project directly with your peers.
• Poster size: A0 size 841mm(w) x 1189mm(h) to fit the board provided.
• Orientation: portrait.
• Fixing: posters will be attached using Velcro, provided on arrival.
• Do not include the RCR logo or crest - any poster containing these will not be displayed or published.
• Posters must be printed and brought to conference by presenters (no onsite printing available).
• Set-up and removal times will be advised prior to the conference.
• Any posters left behind will be disposed of.
Electronic poster displays
Accepted abstracts will also be displayed on the SciGen website and on the CrowdComms platform for virtual attendees during the event and for 30 days post-conference.
- The RCR logo or crest must not appear on the poster. Any poster containing these will not be displayed or published
- A PDF of your accepted poster must be submitted to the SciGen abstract submission website by Friday 15 May 2026.
- Failure to provide a PDF file will result in the abstract not being displayed and automatic withdrawn from the competition. If invited to submit a poster, your name and email address will be shared with our external provider SciGen.
