Abstract submissions are now open!

We welcome authors to submit abstracts to exhibit innovative AI projects and research that demonstrates your approaches to improving patient care, pathways and services. Through participation, you can showcase your work in front of a multidisciplinary global audience of clinicians and allied healthcare professionals.

Abstract categories

We're looking for a wide range of AI submissions from across the UK and globally, for projects implemented under the following competitions:

• Education and research: examples of proof of concept or AI in development, technical advances or pre-clinical testing
• Transforming practice: how your AI research has been implemented and may have already changed practice
• Regulation and risk management: projects or learning on governance, ethics and societal impact
• Horizon and future potential: latest AI developments and potential future impact
• General / other outside of the above

Deadline for submissions: Monday 15 July 2024, 11:59 pm (BST).

Why submit an abstract?

Abstract submissions will form a key part of the conference providing added value to the programme content with posters on display in the exhibition hall throughout the duration of the event, as well as online for those joining us virtually. By submitting an abstract you will:

• Showcase your innovative ideas and strategies to policymakers, educators, clinicians and innovators
• Demonstrate your approach to improving patient care, pathways and services
• Share your achievements among your peers and influence practice across the UK and globally
• Communicate your organisation's work and build your peer networks
• Build your profile by having your work published in the RCR Open Journal online, presence on SciGens website and the online platform CrowdComms
• Earn an additional 3 CPD credits as a lead author and 1 CPD credit as a co-author.

Abstracts will be displayed online and in-person and will automatically be entered into our competition with the opportunity to win a cash prize. Following the conference, abstracts will be published post-event via the online platform CrowdComms, in the RCR Open Journal online and on SciGens website to continue sharing your research.

How to submit

Submissions are now open and must be entered using the online form. At least one named author must register as a paying delegate and in attendance on 3-4 February 2025. We encourage you to secure your place at the point of submissions to ensure you secure your booking at the super early bird rates by 10 June 2024, saving up to £150.

Eligibility

We welcome submissions from members, allied healthcare professionals, members of other Royal Societies and societies and from professionals in non-radiology specialties. 

In-person poster displays

Abstracts will be displayed in a dedicated area in the exhibition hall, where posters will be placed on traditional poster boards, providing a space where you can share and discuss your project with your peers. 

•    Poster size must be A0 size 841mm(w) x 1189mm(h) to fit the board provided.
•    Posters layout must be portrait orientation.
•    Posters will be fixed to the boards with Velcro which will be provided on arrival.
•    It is not permitted to include the RCR logo or crest on the poster. Any poster containing the RCR logo will not be displayed or published.
•    Posters should be printed and brought to conference by presenters. There are no onsite printing facilities.
•    Setting up and taking down times will be advised prior to the conference.
•    Any posters left at the venue will be disposed of. 

Electronic poster displays

•    All abstracts will be displayed on SciGens website to be viewed by our virtual delegates and accessed post event for 30 days.
•    The RCR logo or crest must not be displayed on or included on the physical poster or e-poster image. Any physical poster or e-poster containing the RCR logo will not be displayed or published.
•    A PDF of the accepted e-Poster must be submitted to the SciGen abstract submission website by Monday 7th October 2024. Failure to provide a PDF file will result in the abstract not being displayed and therefore withdrawn from the competition. Please note that if invited to submit an e-Poster, your name and email address will be shared with our external provider SciGen.

People's Choice Award 

Winners will be announced on stage during day one - Monday 4 February 2025. Those shortlisted for a prize will be informed in advance and expected to be in attendance. Winners will be presented with a certificate and prize.
